Okay – confessional time. My name is Marc Patterson and I liked BloodRayne.
There I said it. BloodRayne is for me a total guilty pleasure. So much so that I don’t even feel guilty about saying it. A little ashamed, sure. When I made the comment regarding Rob Zombie’s El Superbeasto that I would rather watch a Uwe Boll film ten times over than to suffer through any of RZ’s messes, it was BloodRayne I had in mind. Sure… it’s a totally BAD movie …

News came from EW earlier today that the upcoming film Vlad, from Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam, will not have a single vampire reference in the film. The film will focus on the real life of Vlad the Impaler, and not make any allusions to vampirism. For Charlie Hunnam this approach was “non-negotiable”, and have to say – I couldn’t be more happy. Up until this point I had little to no interest in this film. The story of Vlad the Impaler as Dracula …

Fantastic Fest ’09 Review: Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant (2009)
Studio: Universal Pictures
Directed By: Paul Weitz
Cast: John C. Reilly, Chris Massoglia, Josh Hutcherson, Jessica Carlson, Salma Hayek
Review By: Kayley Viteo
Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant turned out to be the surprise of Fantastic Fest for me. I went solely because I love John C. Reilly, figuring, at the very least, he would be entertaining. What ended up happening is that I actually enjoyed myself at a movie aimed chiefly at the teenage crowd, which is almost unfathomable and certainly unexpected.
Based …

The MTV Movies Blog got the first look at the new poster for Daybreakers, a vampire story set in the near dystopian future, where a plague has turned most of the human population into vampires. Humans are now farmed for blood and are slowly becoming extinct. A vampire researcher named Edward Dalton, who refuses to drink human blood (there’s always one of those), believes he can discover a synthetic substitute that would let vampires and humans co-exist peacefully (a la True Blood). Daybreakers stars Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe, …

Once in a while we get a bit of news that manages to live up to the reputation we try to maintain here at Brutal As Hell, which plainly means that if my friends saw me reporting this shit, they might not be my friends any longer. C’est la vie. For better or for worse, I am a horror fiend and this kind of reporting is what I do. Go ahead. Call me a scumbag.
So what do I say about a film called “Vaginal …

Cast: Phil Caracas, Murielle Varhelyi, Maria Moulton, Tim Devries, Ian Driscoll
Review By: Brian McNail

JESUS CHRIST VAMPIRE HUNTER… Jesus Christ.  I have reviewed some B-Movies in my day but this was the B-Movie.  Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter is the type of movie that makes you stand up and take notice of independent horror flicks and appreciate those movies that are diamonds in the rough.  This is not one of those movies.  While this movie won several awards at film festivals it makes …
