Okay – BIG DISCLAIMER – I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I’m not a huge fan of sharing clips from films. I just think it gives far too much away. However… I’m not a man of steadfast rules either. It goes back to some Buddhist baloney about never sticking to a single thought, or some crap like that. AND I’m this post-punk anarcho kid anyway – so chaos and rule breaking happen to BE the rule.
That said – I will …

The Butcher (2007)
Studio: Vivendi Ent.
DVD Release Date: October 27, 2009
Directed By: Kim Jin-Won
Cast: Kim Sung-Il, You Dong-Hun.
Review By: Annie Riordan
Note to self: No more torture-porn flicks for a very long time.
I’m not entirely sure why I continue to watch the damn things. I’ve never been a huge fan of the genre. Gore for the sake of gore doesn’t interest or impress me. So I’m going to blame this stubborn insistence of mine to continuously expose myself to this sick shit on my ex-boyfriend, a huge fan of hardcore violent …

October has been an insane month for horror releases, for obvious reasons. There have been some great titles, and some awesome surprises, but looking at the grand scope for this month’s releases, I find myself underwhelmed. Here we are in our last week, and I think it’s the best yet:

Black Devil Doll
Holy shit.  While the artwork screams blacksploitation in the 70’s, this film came out last year. Just watch the NSFW trailer over on Youtube. Trust me, it will change your fucking life. “He’s a lover! He’s a …

Saw VI (2009)
Directed By: Kevin Greutert
Cast: Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor, Shawnee Smith, Betsy Russell

Well, it’s just about time for Halloween, kids, and you know what that means.
That’s right. Another Saw film has descended upon us.
For the past six years now, the Saw franchise has returned again and again to give movie goers a requisite helping of twisty, convoluted plots, rusty torture mechanisms, and Tobin Bell. Of course, like so many long-running franchises, the series seemed to have succumbed to the curse of diminishing …

*It is just about impossible to review this movie without giving spoilers out like Pepsi points, so please be advised of that fact before you continue reading.*

Ah, yet again I find myself reviewing a movie I don’t like. To Saw IV’s credit, I don’t hate it like I did most of the other entries in the franchise. For anyone who actually reads …

Saw 3 (2006)
Studio: Lionsgate
DVD Release Date: January 23, 2007
Directed By: Darren Lynn Bousman
Cast: Bahar Soomekh, Shawnee Smith, Tobin Bell
Brutal As Hell Rating: 2 out of 5 stars
Review By: Zombie Boy

As a thinking, feeling person, who also happens to be a huge horror fan, I hate the Saw films. The whole premise falls apart under even the barest trace of scrutiny, and as the franchise expands, no one in the production makes any bones about the fact that the complexity and brutality of the traps and the sheer amount of gore …

Meat Grinder
C’mon, I’m trying to choke down some chicken pad thai over here! Now’s there’s an image that will make me think twice before I head on down to the local Thai eatery. Bloody gore, torture, pain, and chopsticks. I don’t know much of anything about the plot and I don’t much care. If it looks good, and sounds good, then it’s worth checking out. Hell, I’m a brave taster. How about you? Check out the trailers below and let me know.

Not long ago we caught wind of a new serial killer film, shot in a home video/documentary style way. It provides the audience with a visceral and gritty viewing experience. One has to question the timing of this though. We’re long past the height of the torture porn craze, and this just seems like senseless noise. Here’s the synopsis, straight from the filmmakers website:

During 1987 through 1997 a serial killer terrorized the community of Beaumont, Texas. On February 28, 1997, at 9:15 AM an anonymous …
