Two contests in one day? What can I say… It doesn’t happen often so you’re welcome. Frozen is a film we here at BrutalAsHell.com are very excited about. I got to catch an advance look at the film just a couple nights ago and will personally attest that I spent half the film slack-jawed. It was pure insanity. Make sure to check out Britt Hayes review of the film. I joke that Britt and I are like Siskel and Ebert as we rarely …

The House of the Devil (review here) was one of my favorite films of 2009 and yesterday (Feb 2) it was released to DVD from Dark Sky Films. To help kick off the DVD release we were able to work up a really cool contest for all of you out there by getting our hands on three limited edition autographed VHS copies of the film. Along with the VHS comes the DVD as well as an assortment of cool pins!
Film Synopsis:
Sam (Donahue) is a pretty college …

If you’re going to be at Sundance Film Fest here in the next few days you stand a chance to get a look at Gaspar Noe’s latest entry where he descends into the bowels of Japan, Enter the Void. IFC Films has just announced their acquisition for U.S. Distribution rights to Enter the Void, strengthening their reputation for bringing some of the highest quality films to American audiences. Just over the past couple of years we’ve seen IFC deliver the instantly classic Let The Right One In, and …

News broke earlier today at ShockTillYouDrop.com that IFC has picked up The Human Centipede for distribution, which will include giving it a launch on their successful VOD programming. Taking a chance on edgy material that otherwise might not see a major release isn’t a first for IFC, which has found its success in supporting other independent horror releases this past year such as Antichrist and The House of the Devil. Currently a date has not yet been set for release.
The official synopsis: Two pretty American girls are …

A couple days ago several sites posted news of a promotional VHS from Dark Sky Films for the upcoming DVD and Blu-ray Release of The House of the Devil. It’s was a pretty sweet promotion, but was bothersome as at the date the images were posted it was all tease for fans. Amazon nor Dark Sky Films had the VHS listed as available for sale. They didn’t even acknowledge it existed at all. Well, this morning it appears that a combo pack is now …

If you’ve been a regular reader here you know that I just love Ti West’s Satanic Panic film The House of the Devil. Its slow deliberate pacing and atmospheric scares combined with a phenomenal job in re-creating that old musty era of the 80’s that we all remember a hell of a lot more than the neon roller derby won me over on my first viewing. It’s up there high on my favorite of 2009 list.
On February 2, 2010 Dark Sky Films will release The …

It was the weekend of Halloween, one that has not left me; indeed I’ve dreamed of it since. Trinity of Terrors, the first ever, held at The Palms Casino in Las Vegas.
I haven’t been to many horror festivals, typically I expect them to be small affairs hidden away in grimy-yet-glorious back alley theaters. Not so with Trinity of Terrors, this was held in the glitz and glam of the Palms, 55 floors of gambling, restaurants, scantily clad girls… did I mention that the Playboy Club is housed in …

You know, I never like to be the one douchebag on the block that doesn’t post about an event like this. Not like this is some monumental thing, but it is pretty cool. We’ve been talking a lot about The House of the Devil to the point where you’re probably sick of hearing about it from us. So we’ll keep this snarky, short, and to the point. After all… we are “Horror Without Mercy”. So let’s play it that way.
If you follow us on Twitter then you may …

If you all remember correctly about a month ago we ran a contest in conjunction with Magnet Releasing for the new 80’s throwback Satanic horror flick, The House of the Devil. The contest was for us to earn the privilege to premiere the four alternative “retro styled” posters that you’ve now all seen at every horror site on the net. You all kicked serious ass on our behalf and we won that contest in a landslide, beating bigger sites like DreadCentral.com and Fangoria.com. As a result …

Shock Til You Drop has the poster debut for Ti West’s Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever. Our own Marc Patterson recently interviewed Ti West for The House of the Devil, and asked about the turmoil involved with post-production on the film, and why he doesn’t feel like it’s his film anymore.
For better or worse, Cabin Fever 2 is premiering tomorrow at Screamfest in Hollywood at Mann’s Chinese theater.
