UK readers take note – this is what our American friends call a ‘heads-up!’ This coming Saturday, Birmingham’s Custard Factory plays host to Ghouls On Film, a one-day festival to mark Women In Horror Recognition Month organised by Nia Edwards-Behi (who was recently interviewed at Fatally Yours, and a good read it is too.) I will be there along with many more UK horror fans to show our appreciation for independent horror and the women working in it.
The line-up is as follows:
“Starting at 3pm is an hour of …

Happy Birthday to Me. You’re all invited to my party!
Better watch out or Ginny, wait I mean Ann? Yes definitely Ann this time, will slit your… cupcake?
I can’t, I won’t, and yes I out right refuse to do a Valentine’s Day post just because it’s February and apparently the cool thing to do. I would rather be shackled to a pine tree and forced to watch the Notebook again before I dare write anything supporting mushy love. It’s true. I am a bitter shell of a person and …

I’m not going to lie. I’m a dirty motherfucker. I was a fan of hot tattooed alt chicks well before the internet created a place for them. It only makes sense. Tattooed punk rock boys desire sexy tattooed punk rock girls. But, god bless the web… they have a wonderful place to all hang out together. And now these girls are making a movie. No talent? No problem. It’s not needed. Shoot this shit Real World style. Drop twelve hotties into a cabin …

Here’s one you won’t find readily elsewhere. We just discovered this newly minted trailer and I have to admit – it’s downright sick. I’m not going to say this film actually looks good, because it doesn’t. I see far too many slashers in the course of any given year for that. To me, it looks like just another vicious slasher. However, that being said – this trailer is cool as shit and features some rather jaw dropping madness. I wouldn’t be surprised to …

This past week several DVD release dates were announced as locked, loaded, and ready to go. Instead of giving each their own special post we figured we might as well includd into one nice little package for you all. Let’s take a look…
Blood Creek:
First up is Blood Creek, which hits DVD this Tuesday, January 19 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Starring Dominic Purcell, Henry Cavill, and Michael Fassbender, the film directed by Joel Schumacher hasn’t gotten much positive criticism, but we can’t weigh in on …

News just broke late last night (at least for those of us on the East Coast) that Adam Green’s Hatchet 2 has been picked up by Dark Sky Films with the intent of turning the films into the next big horror franchise. Earlier last week our own Britt Hayes spoke to Adam during final pre-production on the film, and we’ll be bringing that interview to you in the next couple of days.
From the press release:
The movie, which has just begun shooting in LA, brings back …

Big news day for Adam Green, writer/director of the 2006 slasher film, Hatchet. In an exclusive with Shock Til You Drop, Green says he’ll be back to write and direct Hatchet 2:
“It’s finally happening,” Green enthused. “It’s going to have double the body count, and Anchor Bay is being cool enough to allow me to make the sequel I want to make.”
The first Hatchet film starred Joel Moore (Dodgeball, Grandma’s Boy, the upcoming Avatar) as a guy whose friends drag him to New Orleans on Mardi Gras to …

Sam Raimi’s return to horror releases on DVD and Blu-ray today, starring Alison Lohman and Justin Long. The story follows Christine Brown (Lohman), a loan officer who is charged with evicting a little old woman from her home; unfortunately, the little old woman is really a gypsy and curses Christine to a life of living hell. While Drag Me to Hell didn’t do too well at the box office (a victim of poor marketing and lazy theater-goers – we’re looking at you), it received high praise. Raimi’s long-awaited …

It’s time to blow out the candles and sharpen the shish-kebab spears, because the classic 1980s’ slasher favorite Happy Birthday to Me is coming to DVD, courtesy Anchor Bay Entertainment. Street date is October 13, 2009, with a pre-book date of September 10, 2009 and a festive SRP of $14.98.
This edition of the film, however, has something missing from the previous DVD release does not – the film’s haunting orchestral score, as composed by Bo Harwood and Lance Rubin, which was NOT included on the first DVD release and …

The good guys from FRAYED (a new slasher film being released in late August from Lionsgate) have just sent us a clip from their upcoming film, which they promise contains “one of the most graphic scenes depicted on film”. Graphic in what way? Violently graphic is surely what we are to assume, but it’s not really clear. What is clear is that in this clip we have a psychotic clown chasing down some kids who are camping in the woods. The clown is Kurt Baker, a now …
