People began buzzing today about the upcoming film The Last Exorcism (premiering at LA Film Fest tomorrow night), produced by Eli Roth, and its official rating of PG-13. Some are crying foul, declaring that there is no way this film will be nearly as effective with a softer rating. My initial reaction was similar, mostly because anything involving Eli Roth is typically filled with buckets of blood and viscera; however, this is a film about an exorcism, not a flesh-eating disease or a torture warehouse. But then my …

Who in the hell is Tod “Kip” Williams? That’s the question undoubtedly on the mind of every horror loving fan. I make it my business to know stuff like this and even I was scrambling to find something, anything, on this guy when news broke at ParanormalMovie.com that he was chosen to helm the upcoming sequel to last years breakaway horror film.
Oren Peli made the announcement:
“I have some awesome news for the fans of Paranormal Activity – director Kip Williams will join us for the next …

It’s official (as if we couldn’t see this one coming). According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog, Paramount has officially brought on Saw VI director Kevin Greutert to helm the sequel to Oren Peli’s phenomenon Paranormal Activity. Alongside Greutert will be the veteran TV screenwriter Michael R. Perry. What this means for horror fans is that October is already set up to be another battle of the box office between these two giants of horror. This past October Saw VI took …

I don’t like getting official notices of ANYTHING in the mail. Not even tax forms. I’m a little paranoid that way. Not that I have anything to be paranoid of, but I’m just the type of guy who keeps a close watch on my surroundings pretty much at all times. So when I got a piece of mail from “Agent D. Perez” sent from “Field Office …

Some will ask if the insane craze around Paranormal Activity will ever end. Others can’t get enough. Well, get ready for more because the second wave of nausea inducing hype is here. Paranormal Activity hits DVD and Blu-ray on December 29th and earlier today we were sent the first five pages to ‘Paranormal Activity: The Search For Katie’, a digital comic available through iTunes for a measly 99 cents. In the way of comics it doesn’t look like much, and I have to apologize up …

Paranormal Activity will be released by Paramount Home Entertainment on December 29th. Looks like Paramount took the advice of some in releasing the film on DVD and Blu before the end of the year. Makes sense fiscally. This is where they’ll really see a surge of cash.
The PARANORMAL ACTIVITY DVD is presented in widescreen enhanced for 16:9 televisions with Dolby Digital English 5.1 Surround and Spanish 5.1 Surround (theatrical version only) and English, French and Spanish subtitles. The two-disc
Blu-ray is presented in 1080p high definition with English 5.1 DTS-HD Master …

It’s been ten years since The Blair Witch Project became the little movie that could, and scared up millions on a budget of a scant few thousand. Since that time there have been a few attempts to do the cinéma vérité thing in the same way with varying levels of success. Cloverfield pulled it off. George Romero’s Diary of the Dead did not. In the end it evens out, …

That’s right, if you saw Paranormal Activity, you are now one of the many to blame if and when a new Blair Witch film comes out. The Star is reporting that a new Blair Witch installment is under way. Speaking with co-writer and director of the first film, Eduardo Sanchez, The Star reports:
They’d pick up from where the original left off, pretending Blair Witch 2 never happened. The duo recently went on a drive through their original Blair Witch haunts, about a half hour from Sánchez’s Maryland home, …

Paranormal Activity closed the pre-Halloween weekend taking in $22 Million at the box office, up over a horror film contender SAW VI, which slid in over the family favorite Where the Wild Things Are, by a narrow margin, finishing at $14.8 Million. This comes as a shocker to many who expected the mega-hit horror franchise of Saw to own the box office for October. That honor will go to Paranormal Activity, which continues to prove its staying power by actually making more money this weekend than …

First there was The Blair Witch, and now we are finally moving past Paranormal Activity. Just around the corner? The Fourth Kind. Get ready for the hype, because it’s coming. Hold that thought. It’s here. I just moments ago became “followed” by their official Twitter page. I’m a nice guy. I followed them back.
Instead of relying on strange witchy happenings in the woods, or house hauntings, (you know, anything of an earthly sort) The Fourth Kind, from Universal, takes us to a …
