Remember that 3 minute long trailer I posted for you all almost a year ago for a really sweet looking zombie film based in South Africa? No? Okay, well at least I’ve now found validation in bringing you some updated news. Looks like The Dead has finally wrapped and currently the producers are looking for a little distribution love. Not only that but they have a brand new trailer for you to check out.
Personally, I think you’ll get a better vibe for the feel …

Daybreakers (2010)

Release Date: January 8, 2010
Directed by: The Spierig Brothers
Starring: Ethan Hawke, Sam Neill, Willem Dafoe, Isabel Lucas
Review by: Britt Hayes
It’s the year 2019, and in the not-too-distant future vampirism has overtaken society like a disease. There are less than 5% of humans left alive, and it is now the sole objective of our military to hunt them down and bring them to Bromley Marks, a large corporation whose main income comes from keeping humans alive and farming them for blood to sell through their profitable blood bank. Working …

CHUD just premiered the final one sheet for Martin Scorsese’s upcoming psychological horror flick Shutter Island. It doesn’t look too much different from the teaser poster revealed before, but the final product is stunning.
Like Mr. Devin Faraci over at CHUD, I too saw Shutter Island a couple of weeks ago at Butt Numb A Thon 11. And I have to agree with Faraci: the film grows on you more and more. While I’m not yet sure if this is my favorite Scorsese film ever (time will tell), I …

What timing! After seeing Shutter Island last weekend and reviewing it here, two new stills have been released in anticipation of the February release. While these stills don’t show much, they do highlight the gorgeous cinematography from the film.

Big news day for Adam Green, writer/director of the 2006 slasher film, Hatchet. In an exclusive with Shock Til You Drop, Green says he’ll be back to write and direct Hatchet 2:
“It’s finally happening,” Green enthused. “It’s going to have double the body count, and Anchor Bay is being cool enough to allow me to make the sequel I want to make.”
The first Hatchet film starred Joel Moore (Dodgeball, Grandma’s Boy, the upcoming Avatar) as a guy whose friends drag him to New Orleans on Mardi Gras to …

I recall the first time I heard about Changeling, Eastwood’s suspense-drama starring Angelina Jolie. I thought he was remaking the 1980 Peter Medak horror classic, The Changeling. That “the” makes a big difference, and I soon found out he was making a suspenseful drama set in the 40’s, centered around Angelina Jolie’s pretty face and one of the most interesting crimes in history: the Wineville Chicken Coop Murders. Being a huge nerd, I knew all about these murders, so I was pretty fucking excited. After watching Eastwood’s Changeling, …

Oh hey, look! There’s another remake! And guess what, you guys?!?! It’s going to be in 3-D! While the news of yet another remake should come as no surprise (and if it does, you have more optimism left in your precious head than I), a remake being done in 3-D….well, that’s not really surprising either. Over the last year or so, 3-D has seen a huge resurgence in the film industry. While some films are worthy of the treatment, other films rely on it as a gimmick to …

Empire has revealed the latest one-sheet for Richard Kelly’s upcoming thriller, The Box. This British one-sheet follows the French poster revealed in early September. There’s something more appealing about the French poster. Kelly’s latest film (and probably his last chance to remain relevant) releases next Friday, November 6th. Check back with us next week, when I’ll have a theatrical review.

If you’re like me, you didn’t watch Spike TV’s 2009 Scream Awards. I’m not here to bash televised awards for horror films, but the truth is that most of the movies they hand out statues to are just plain awful (ahem, those sparkly vampire movies everyone’s got their panties twisted about). But what if there were a magical place where, with just the click of a button, you can find videos of the things that happen during those underwhelming awards shows? Oh, right. We have the internet. Good …

Over at Bloody-Disgusting they have info on the cast for the 30 Days of Night sequel, titled 30 Days of Night: Dark Days. Mia Kirshner (The L Word, The Black Dahlia), Rhys Coiro (Entourage), Harold Perrineau (Lost), Diora Baird (Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning), and Monique Ganderton have all signed for the film.
Not much about their roles has been leaked, but Kirshner will play a vampire known as Lilith (Bordello of Blood, much?), while Coiro will play a lead role. No information has been given on the return …
