It’s official (as if we couldn’t see this one coming). According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog, Paramount has officially brought on Saw VI director Kevin Greutert to helm the sequel to Oren Peli’s phenomenon Paranormal Activity. Alongside Greutert will be the veteran TV screenwriter Michael R. Perry. What this means for horror fans is that October is already set up to be another battle of the box office between these two giants of horror. This past October Saw VI took …

Daybreakers (2010)

Directed by: The Spierig Brothers
Starring: Ethan Hawke, Sam Neill, Willem Dafoe, Isabel Lucas
Review by: Britt Hayes
It’s the year 2019, and in the not-too-distant future vampirism has overtaken society like a disease. There are less than 5% of humans left alive, and it is now the sole objective of our military to hunt them down and bring them to Bromley Marks, a large corporation whose main income comes from keeping humans alive and farming them for blood to sell through their profitable blood bank. Working …

I have to say, there’s quite a bit of news that’s been sent a long to us regarding SAW VI that we haven’t posted. We’re just not into posting every little thing about every big studio film that comes along. We’re critics, not marketers. But when this news bit came along from Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures I couldn’t help but post it because as much as I tend to loathe much of this franchise, I can’t deny it’s formidable force amongst horror fans, and I …

Besides being in 3D, what else can we expect from the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre when Twisted Pictures put their spin on it? Shock Til You Drop has an exclusive with producer Mark Burg. In the conversation, Burg says, “What we’re going to do with it is bring it to 2010.” Okay, are you just remaking it, then? Burg continues, “Make it current day and come up with a new story that takes some of the basic plot points, if you will, and make it a current day …

I have to say, for a low budget sci-fi horror flick that will likely get a very short and limited theatrical run before going to DVD, Growth is a damn fine looking flick. Well at least this trailer has my skin crawling in anticipation of it’s gorey parasitic laden goodness.
The film is based around the lead character of Jamie Akerman (Mircea Monroe) who twenty years ago survived a horrible scientific accident gone wrong on a small island. Scientists who worked on the …

Frayed (2007)
Studio: Lionsgate
Release Date: August 25, 2009
Directed By: Norb Caoili and Rob Portmann
Cast: Kellee Bradley, Don Brady, Tasha Smith, Tony Doupe, Aaron Blakely
Review By: John Pattison AKA “Rated R” JohnnyHorror

Killer clown fans get ready to swallow this one up like a ball park hot dog. Frayed is a mindless psychological slasher film with the killer dressed in a killer clown mask. The premise of the film is very simple and lacks originality for the most part. It borrows a lot of elements from other slasher films, but then again what …

The good guys from FRAYED (a new slasher film being released in late August from Lionsgate) have just sent us a clip from their upcoming film, which they promise contains “one of the most graphic scenes depicted on film”. Graphic in what way? Violently graphic is surely what we are to assume, but it’s not really clear. What is clear is that in this clip we have a psychotic clown chasing down some kids who are camping in the woods. The clown is Kurt Baker, a now …
