Clearly Slipknot has matured a bit from their early nu-metal antics of the late 90’s. They just debuted their full video for Snuff yesterday and I must say it’s pretty impressive. Snuff, the fifth single from All Hope is Gone is a creepy and highly stylized mind-bending video with Lynchian elements sure to please both fans of the band and horror. The video features horror icons Malcolm McDowell (most recently of Halloween fame) and Ashley Laurence, who you remember from the Hellraiser films.

Carriers (2009)
Directed: by Alex and David Pastor
Reviewed by: Marc Patterson
You might not remember the drama of Labor Day weekend. It was right on the heels of opening weekend for H2 and The Final Destination. I had full intentions of catching an early matinee for Carriers when out of nowhere I find the film isn’t playing ANYWHERE. Well, to be honest it was playing. But late in the game it was thrown a measly 96-screen opening. This lax opening came on the heels of news of …

Welcome to the final part of our first annual holiday gift guide. I’m going to run things down a little differently in this edition. In the DVD and Blu-ray sections, I’ll start with bargains, move to regular priced items, and then to boxed sets and pricey editions (if any). For books, it’ll just be a veritable mix of comic books, novels, and the like, priced lowest to highest. Let’s get started, shall we?

Rob Zombie recently took to his Twitter to share with the public, in 140 characters or less, what he’s up to:
“Just finished doing the director’s commentary for the DVD of Halloween 2. Love the new cut. This is the real film.”
He also previously mentioned that this version is “very different” from the theatrical cut. God, I hope so. It’s no secret that I was very disappointed with H2. After being one of very few people who enjoyed Zombie’s Halloween as a whole, even though I thought it …

October has been an insane month for horror releases, for obvious reasons. There have been some great titles, and some awesome surprises, but looking at the grand scope for this month’s releases, I find myself underwhelmed. Here we are in our last week, and I think it’s the best yet:
Black Devil Doll
Holy shit. While the artwork screams blacksploitation in the 70’s, this film came out last year. Just watch the NSFW trailer over on Youtube. Trust me, it will change your fucking life. “He’s a lover! He’s a …

Right on the heels of an astounding opening weekend where guts, violence, and gore ruled the box office we get news from LA Times (via Icons of Fright) that Halloween 3D will be coming to a theater near you for the summer of 2010. That’s right, while Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 might have played second fiddle to the surprise hit The Final Destination, there are signs of life for the franchise that refuses to die.
What is particularly noteworthy is how the LA Times article pointedly shows that horror in …

Rob Zombie is a visionary director. He’s brought us camp and throwback to the 70s with House of 1000 Corpses. He took us on a brutal fugitive ride through the West with the incredible Devil’s Rejects. Then he wandered into questionable territory with his remake of Halloween, a film that should have really been split in two. Where he used restraint and second-guessed …

Captain Clegg and The NightCreatures (2009)
Album Release Date: August 28, 2009
Review By: Matt Barnette
Spinal Tap, Eddie & The Cruisers, The Replacements, Citizen Dick – what do they all have in common? They’re bands from movies. Some of them have put out records, some just show up on soundtracks, but never before has a band from a movie been so fully evolved and able to stand on its own merits than the debut release from Captain Clegg and the NightCreatures does.

Hot on her heels Danielle Harris has broke the news today on her upcoming film by Jim Mickle’s called Stakeland a film produced by Dark Sky Films and Glass Eye Pix. Instead of tangling with Michael Myers, she’s set to battle with another superhuman force, this time, vampires. Us as horror fans know Danielle to be one tough little firecracker in her roles.

Courtesy of Bloody Disgusting comes a wonderful trailer for the upcoming new Halloween film from Rob Zombie. The trailer reveals quite a bit, which is likely why it was ultimately held back. I won’t go so far as to say it serves up any spoilers, but it provides some really sweet insights into what we can expect from the film, and what some of the big differences are to Zombie’s first outing in the franchise. Check it out and be sure to leave your comments.
