Interview conducted by Marc Patterson
Deneen Melody might not be a name you’re immediately familiar with, but you will be soon. She currently has more than half a dozen independently produced films under her belt, with several more lined up for this year. She’s a model, a ballet dancer, and an actress who does her own stunt work. She’s featured as a character in the upcoming comic Ginger Stein: Rise of the Undead, and I’m pretty sure that between all of her projects and keeping up with her …

The Human Centipede crawled into theaters last weekend, and with the exposure to a wider audience, I’ve heard opinions left and right on the film. Unfortunately, these aren’t necessarily critiques of the film; instead, what I’m hearing a lot of is, “It was okay, but it wasn’t as fucked up as (insert film name here).” Since when did we start judging movies, especially horror movies, based on our ability to sit through them?
When did we stop asking ourselves if we enjoyed the film and start asking ourselves if …

Interview Conducted by Marc Patterson – March 2010
Back in March of this year I had the chance to catch up with Creep Creepersin, an emerging horror filmmaker with a punk rock DIY aesthetic that he applies to his mind-bending and gory as hell films. The running joke is that he churns out more films than he has time to watch. From what I’ve seen so far he’s a sort of modern day Jess Franco in the making. Only time will tell…
Brutal As Hell: Thanks for taking the …

I know, another day, another remake story… but I’m getting a good vibe from this one, even though the movie in question has been awaiting release for a while now. Shock Till You Drop recently posted a clip boasting some footage from the remake of 80′s schlockbuster Night of the Demons – and it’s well worth a look. Sure, it basically looks like a cranked-up version of the original, but in this case that needn’t be a bad thing.
Having said that, I know this is one remake that …

I’m not going to lie. I haven’t seen Horror Hospital, nor do I know anything about this film. So I’m going to do something I rarely do… I’m going to let the press release do the talking.  The only added disclaimer to this I’m going to add is that normally I’d never do this, but coming from Dark Sky Films I feel almost safe in allowing the copy of a PR agency do the talking for me.  Dark Sky has established themselves as a solid, reliable source for …

Salvage (2009)
Distributor: Revolver Entertainment
Director: Lawrence Gough
Starring: Neve McIntosh, Shaun Dooley, Linzey Cocker, Trevor Hancock
Review by: Ben Bussey
Christmas Eve: the day when millions across the globe unwillingly flock home in order to celebrate the winter festivities in the company of those with whom they are obligated to do so. This is very much the case for Jodie (Cocker) as she is unwillingly dropped off by her father at the house of her estranged mother Beth (McIntosh). After catching her mother in the throes with a one-night stand (Dooley), Jodie angrily flees …

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil (2009)
SXSW 2010
Directed by: Eli Craig
Starring: Alan Tudyk, Tyler Labine, Katrina Bowden, Jesse Moss
Review by: Britt Hayes
Tucker and Dale are two redneck friends with a dream to own their very own vacation house in the woods by the lake. They sink their life savings into a “fixer upper” cabin and head up there for the weekend to fish, drink beer, and get to work on repairing their new investment. On their way, they bump into a group of college kids heading up to the same woods. …

If you’re confused I don’t blame you. Let’s just take it slow and add up that equation above. You take the director of Geisha Versus Ninja (Go Ohara) and put him with Tokyo Gore Police effects maestro Yoshihiro Nishimura and what you’ll get is a new upcoming film called Gothic and Lolita Psycho. We got the word totally second hand via Twitch, that this project is classified as wrapped and is what Todd Brown described as “a hardcore splatter picture riffing on the Japanese loligoth …

Holy shit! It’s been well over two months since I last put together an installment of “Blood Between the Panels” (or as I like to call it, “The Best Damn Horror Comics Review Column Written by Me), but I am back ready to kick ass and chew bubblegum, but since I’m all out of bubblegum I guess I’ll just review some more comics.
Now, before I really get into talking about some of the latest pieces of graphic horror fiction to cross my path, I suppose I should let …

And the award for “Holy fucking shit what the fuck did I just watch!” goes to… A Serbian Film. In about a week from now our very own Britt Hayes will be sitting in a cool theater in Austin TX at SXSW getting an up close and personal look at this film, for which I can’t even believe I’m about to say… might be too harsh for even me. Okay… well that’s a gross exaggeration. Clearly I just want you to think that I have an …
