Holy shit! It’s been well over two months since I last put together an installment of “Blood Between the Panels” (or as I like to call it, “The Best Damn Horror Comics Review Column Written by Me), but I am back ready to kick ass and chew bubblegum, but since I’m all out of bubblegum I guess I’ll just review some more comics.
Now, before I really get into talking about some of the latest pieces of graphic horror fiction to cross my path, I suppose I should let …

And the award for “Holy fucking shit what the fuck did I just watch!” goes to… A Serbian Film. In about a week from now our very own Britt Hayes will be sitting in a cool theater in Austin TX at SXSW getting an up close and personal look at this film, for which I can’t even believe I’m about to say… might be too harsh for even me. Okay… well that’s a gross exaggeration. Clearly I just want you to think that I have an …

If you caught wind of Ghost House Underground’s Italian shocker The Last House In the Woods you know one thing… it blew chunks. It’s a film I called ‘hardly worth seeking out‘. Not exactly a great lead in to this piece, I know… but something to bear in mind.
From the folks at Bloody-Disgusting.com comes news that Director Gabriele Albanesi is at it again, with a new bit of video nasty called In The Mouth of Ubaldo Terzani. What? That’s a mouthful (no pun intended). …

If there’s one thing to be said for re-makes is that they always provide a window for re-issues of the original film. Usually that re-issue means an upgrade, with cleaned up source material, added extras, and the lot. You can hate the remake but you gotta love the red tide ushered in their wake. In the case of Piranha 3-D I’m declaring a win-win. I’ve been pretty vocal from the outset that this is one remake I have absolutely no problem with. In my professional …

Today we’re kicking off a short film fest leading up to the end of the year. Each day this week I’ll be posting either a short film for your viewing pleasure, or highlighting one that deserves some attention. Today’s entry is a short zombie film that has been floating around the net for a few months now, but one that certainly deserves a viewing if you haven’t yet checked it out. I’d like to give a shoutout to our friends at Send More Cops, for …

Welcome to the final part of our first annual holiday gift guide. I’m going to run things down a little differently in this edition. In the DVD and Blu-ray sections, I’ll start with bargains, move to regular priced items, and then to boxed sets and pricey editions (if any). For books, it’ll just be a veritable mix of comic books, novels, and the like, priced lowest to highest. Let’s get started, shall we?

October has been an insane month for horror releases, for obvious reasons. There have been some great titles, and some awesome surprises, but looking at the grand scope for this month’s releases, I find myself underwhelmed. Here we are in our last week, and I think it’s the best yet:
Black Devil Doll
Holy shit. While the artwork screams blacksploitation in the 70’s, this film came out last year. Just watch the NSFW trailer over on Youtube. Trust me, it will change your fucking life. “He’s a lover! He’s a …

Sometimes when you sit down to a film you don’t really know what to expect. In all circumstances I try to leave expectations at the table and just take what comes at face value. This can be hard with a film that endured a decent first installment and has been receiving …

In a spin on the 80’s slasher film formula, Gutterballs follows the story of a couple of rivaling bowling squads that rent out a local alley for some late night after hours bowling. The shit talking between the squads turns physical rather quickly and once broken up and kicked out of the bowling alley the teens take off. However, slutty Lisa …

From the After Dark line of horror films comes a familiar tale of horror. Paris is on fire. Riots have broken out after a recent major election. In the midst of the chaos we pick up on the story of five young adults who have pulled of a heist and are attempting to escape Paris to Amsterdam. One of the crew …
