Welcome to the final part of our first annual holiday gift guide. I’m going to run things down a little differently in this edition. In the DVD and Blu-ray sections, I’ll start with bargains, move to regular priced items, and then to boxed sets and pricey editions (if any). For books, it’ll just be a veritable mix of comic books, novels, and the like, priced lowest to highest. Let’s get started, shall we?

In part two of our first annual holiday gift guide, I’ll be giving you foxes a list of great horror-themed t-shirts, posters, and artwork. In part one, I gave a pretty fantastic rundown of horror toys and collectibles, and in part three I’ll be covering DVD/Blu-ray, music, and books. If you have any suggestions, leave ‘em in the comments, or send me a link on Twitter. Once again, I’ll be listing these from least expensive to most expensive.

Are you stumped on what to buy your favorite horror-loving friend/child/significant other/weird basement-dwelling extended relative? Look no further. In part one of this three part guide, we’re taking a look at collectibles, action figures, and toys. I’ll be listing these from least expensive to most expensive, ’cause I know your mom’s thrifty like that. All prices don’t have shipping included unless otherwise indicated, so if it says $10.99, it’s $10.99 plus shipping.
I absolutely love blind boxes. They’re cheap, and you never know which figure you’ll get. Perfect stocking …

Texas Frightmare Weekend is one of the best horror festivals held every spring in Dallas. The 2010 installment will run from April 30th to May 2nd, and will be the festival’s 5th year. Yours truly will be attending the festival as part of the press, and I’ll be giving you regular updates as I receive them in the months leading up to the event, as well as covering the event itself with news, interviews, and reviews.
So far, the guest list is pretty packed with John Carpenter leading the …

Big news day for Adam Green, writer/director of the 2006 slasher film, Hatchet. In an exclusive with Shock Til You Drop, Green says he’ll be back to write and direct Hatchet 2:
“It’s finally happening,” Green enthused. “It’s going to have double the body count, and Anchor Bay is being cool enough to allow me to make the sequel I want to make.”
The first Hatchet film starred Joel Moore (Dodgeball, Grandma’s Boy, the upcoming Avatar) as a guy whose friends drag him to New Orleans on Mardi Gras to …

In news that should come as no surprise to anyone, Shock Till You Drop reports today that the next installment in the Friday the 13th series is to be in 3-D. Given that the next outings for Michael Myers, Leatherface, Pinhead and Jigsaw (or whoever it is laying the traps in Saw these days – I tuned out after the second one) are all set to have us slipping on the funky glasses and ducking as implements of death come flying in our faces, it’s no great shocker …

Tucked away in a shady corner a stone’s throw from the bright lights and gloss of Leicester Square, sits the Prince Charles Cinema, proudly proclaimed the only independent cinema in central London. And this past Halloween it played host to the second annual Gorezone Weekend of Horrors, the British horror movie magazine’s international film festival. Hosted by UK fanboy favourite Emily Booth and US B-movie star Suzi Lorraine (both of whom also write for the magazine), with a bulging schedule of 15 movies over two days – …

Gnaw (2009)
Studio: Dark Sky Films
Director: Michael Bell
Reviewed by: Marc Patterson
Back in August when I posted the trailer for this film, I thought it held some promise. I’m not exactly a huge fan of Texas Chainsaw Massacre copycat films. If I want to see TCM then I’ll pop the damn disc in and watch it. Nonetheless, Gnaw promised something a little different, and you know what? It proved to be different, but only a little.
The film starts with the requisite titling that X amount of people …

Last night The Reaper Awards were held, hosted by Home Media Magazine and Dread Central. This morning we hopped online to discover who the esteemed winners were and it looks like some rather deserving folks took home a “Grimmy”.
There were several standout awards that I was very happy to see have gone to the respective recipients. First, was Alien Raiders winning the Best Direct to Video Release award. Without a doubt it was a serious contender as the film was superbly crafted by Ben Rock …

I’m not going to waste a lot of time on this post. It’s Sunday morning and I have food shopping to do. But I’m seriously annoyed, so I do want to take a few seconds to help squelch the rumor that MMA wrestler, and former UFC champion Tim Sylvia was cast to be the next Jason Voorhees. It’s simply not true. The rumor originated at Fighters.com, and since it’s original posting has spread throughout a gamut of sports sites, and unfortunately has now also invaded the …
