According to SpoilerTV the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street is currently in re-shoots after a series of test screenings done recently. Apparently, the re-shoots are extensive enough as to require new casting, although according to the folks at SpoilerTV, the only scene known to be in filming currently was in a diner set, which isn’t exactly a stomping ground that Freddy is known to hang out in. Patching holes in the story? Developing new plot points? Fixing something disastrous? Only the crew knows why there …

Welcome to the final part of our first annual holiday gift guide. I’m going to run things down a little differently in this edition. In the DVD and Blu-ray sections, I’ll start with bargains, move to regular priced items, and then to boxed sets and pricey editions (if any). For books, it’ll just be a veritable mix of comic books, novels, and the like, priced lowest to highest. Let’s get started, shall we?

Here’s something I haven’t said before: I’m actually looking forward to seeing this Platinum Dunes remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street. Oh sure, I love to loathe it, but I’m a big fan of Jackie Earle Haley and I really want to see what he brings to this part. I mean, that’s pretty much it. I could give a shit about the rest of the film. After all… Platinum Dunes has a pretty low batting average if you ask me.
Okay – ridiculous ranting …

Are you stumped on what to buy your favorite horror-loving friend/child/significant other/weird basement-dwelling extended relative? Look no further. In part one of this three part guide, we’re taking a look at collectibles, action figures, and toys. I’ll be listing these from least expensive to most expensive, ’cause I know your mom’s thrifty like that. All prices don’t have shipping included unless otherwise indicated, so if it says $10.99, it’s $10.99 plus shipping.

I absolutely love blind boxes. They’re cheap, and you never know which figure you’ll get. Perfect stocking …

Normally I’m not a huge proponent of posting clips. I’ll do it when I feel major plot details aren’t revealed, but like fatty foods, I’m trying to cut back. In the case of Stan Helsing, this film looks like pure fat, so I’m not really in fear of giving away any pot details, errr… plot details. Just toke a big fatty before you roll this up and you won’t even remotely remember seeing these clips (ancient Jedi mind trick #332)
“Stan Helsing is the hilariously terrifying …

~The Facts Behind A Nightmare On Elm Street~
~Article by Annie Riordan~

“Wes Craven had come across a few articles about some teenagers who were absolutely terrified – terrified! – to go to sleep.”
~Adam Rockoff
“In the middle of the night they heard these horrendous screams and crashings and they ran in and he’s thrashing on the bed. They ran to him and by the time they got to him he was dead. They did an autopsy on him and there was nothing physically wrong with him. And I just thought: “My God.”

Myspace released a teaser trailer for the Platinum Dunes (house of Michael Bay) produced remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street last night at midnight. The remake is directed by Samuel Bayer (director of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” video), written by the team of Wesley Strick and Eric Heisserer, and follows in the Platinum Dunes tradition of bringing back beloved horror icons and….doing something with them.
Thus far, Platinum Dunes has had a bumpy track record with bringing these characters back. Their Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake was okay, …

The new official one sheet for the upcoming Platinum Dunes remake of “A Nightmare on Elm Street” has emerged, and all remake debates aside this is one bad ass looking poster.  Something I wouldn’t mind hanging from my wall.  Check it out and let us know what you think.

Well, it’s been the post heard round the internet today, at least in horror circles.  Today we got our first look at Jackie Earle Haley as the new face of Freddy Krueger and boy was it worth waiting for.
Wait a second.  No it wasn’t.  To be frank, it wasn’t worth jack shit.  I had a better idea what he’d look like when a press announcement when out stating it would be Haley, and attaching a photo of the actor himself.  Fuck, our imaginations could construct a better “glimpse” than this …
