I couldn’t sleep for shit last night.
No, my insomniac tendencies are not due to a burn-scarred pervert with Gilette’s on his fingers chasing me through dark dream corridors. I had restless legs and woke around 1am to find that my cat had hogged the entire goddamned bed, stretching out her mutant kangaroo feet and shoving me over to the edge of my mattress where …

A Nightmare On Elm Street
Freddy’s Finger(ling) Potatoes
by Shannon Bucaro
Okay, so it’s true, I’m jumping on the Freddy remake bandwagon. Wow, that was hard to say. I imagine me typing that feels a lot like someone attending their first AA meeting. I think I’m starting to break out in a cold sweat and a rash is forming. Ahh, conformity.
I remember getting the news like it was yesterday. It was an abnormally calm night, there was no sound of car alarms or gun shots anywhere insight, and visions of root …

Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)
Directed by: Samuel Bayer
Studio: Platinum Dunes
Starring: Jackie Earle Haley, Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Katie Cassidy, Thomas Dekker
Review by: Dustin Hall
Like so many readers, I’m sure, who come to this site, Freddy Krueger is, for me, an icon. As Superman has become an icon of heroism and Americana, recognized world over, Freddy is the epitome of villainy, both in terms of real terror, and in the Snidely Whiplash kind of way. Regardless of what he may have become in later years, later films, throughout my childhood Freddy was …

The old slasher supervillians just can’t get a break at the moment, it seems. First Patrick Lussier’s Halloween 3-D fails to get beyond the drawing board, and now it’s come to light that the sequel to Platinum Dunes’ Friday the 13th reboot has also been shelved. And, as is rapidly becoming the norm, the scoop came from Twitter – one @Mayroth_Tucker3 asked Brad Fuller of Platinum Dunes what was happening, to which Fuller’s reply was “it is dead – not happening.” Bloody Disgusting got further confirmation of this: …

It’s not that we have some kind of embargo against Freddy Kreuger over here. We don’t. I love the guy. I own all the films, and am even curious about what the new film from Platinum Dunes has in store for us. I just don’t see the need to post relentlessly about every “glimpse” or “first look” or teaser trailer for the film. It makes me too claustrophobic to have that much coverage in one space. We prefer to help give the …

According to SpoilerTV the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street is currently in re-shoots after a series of test screenings done recently. Apparently, the re-shoots are extensive enough as to require new casting, although according to the folks at SpoilerTV, the only scene known to be in filming currently was in a diner set, which isn’t exactly a stomping ground that Freddy is known to hang out in. Patching holes in the story? Developing new plot points? Fixing something disastrous? Only the crew knows why there …

Welcome to the final part of our first annual holiday gift guide. I’m going to run things down a little differently in this edition. In the DVD and Blu-ray sections, I’ll start with bargains, move to regular priced items, and then to boxed sets and pricey editions (if any). For books, it’ll just be a veritable mix of comic books, novels, and the like, priced lowest to highest. Let’s get started, shall we?

Here’s something I haven’t said before: I’m actually looking forward to seeing this Platinum Dunes remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street. Oh sure, I love to loathe it, but I’m a big fan of Jackie Earle Haley and I really want to see what he brings to this part. I mean, that’s pretty much it. I could give a shit about the rest of the film. After all… Platinum Dunes has a pretty low batting average if you ask me.
Okay – ridiculous ranting …

Are you stumped on what to buy your favorite horror-loving friend/child/significant other/weird basement-dwelling extended relative? Look no further. In part one of this three part guide, we’re taking a look at collectibles, action figures, and toys. I’ll be listing these from least expensive to most expensive, ’cause I know your mom’s thrifty like that. All prices don’t have shipping included unless otherwise indicated, so if it says $10.99, it’s $10.99 plus shipping.
I absolutely love blind boxes. They’re cheap, and you never know which figure you’ll get. Perfect stocking …

Normally I’m not a huge proponent of posting clips. I’ll do it when I feel major plot details aren’t revealed, but like fatty foods, I’m trying to cut back. In the case of Stan Helsing, this film looks like pure fat, so I’m not really in fear of giving away any pot details, errr… plot details. Just toke a big fatty before you roll this up and you won’t even remotely remember seeing these clips (ancient Jedi mind trick #332)
“Stan Helsing is the hilariously terrifying …
