Hey guys, your international correspondent coming to you once again from London’s Frightfest with a neat little scoop. Adam Green and Joe Lynch, two guys who really, really love Frightfest, announced today that they are collaborating with fellow writer/directors Adam Rifkin (Detroit Rock City) and Tim Sullivan (2001 Maniacs) on a horror anthology pastiche entitled Chillerama, which Green and Lynch describe as a tribute to the dying culture of the drive-in.
As Lynch (Wrong Turn 2) summed it up to the Frightfest audience, “It’s the last night in the …

Hatchet II (2010)
Directed by: Adam Green
Starring: Danielle Harris, Tony Todd, Kane Hodder
Review by: Ben Bussey
Were we a site with a little less shame, we’d be splashing the words ‘exclusive’ all over the shop right now. This review is coming to you directly from the world premiere of Adam Green’s Hatchet II; yes, that is the full title as it appears in the opening titles. And why not? Returning to Victor Crowley’s swamp four years after making his name there, this is very much a world that Adam Green has created …

Ask what The Soska Sisters, Elske McCain, Shannon Lark, Tara Cardinal, Devanny Pinn, and Deneen Melody all have in common and we’ll tell you Dog Fight. Dog Fight is a new film, still in pre-production, that is slated to begin rolling cameras in early September and represents some of the brightest and best females acting in horror today. The film is centered on an underground fighting circle whose participants are comprised solely of women. The women are victims of human trafficking who have been kidnapped, …

“Frozen is a cutting and harsh film, filled with moments of great tension and little relief… To say that Frozen is a stressful and intense film is an understatement.” These are just a few of the wonderful words of praise our editor Britt Hayes had to say about Adam Green’s Frozen when it premiered at the Butt Numb a Thon in Austin TX earlier this year. (full review here) Lucky for me I was also able to catch an advance screening of the film …

CHUD reports that Chris Columbus and his obviously-named production company, 1492, are producing three horror films this year. The first should come as no surprise: Adam Green (Frozen, Hatchet) is scripting Killer Pizza, described as an “action comedy about a 14-year-old who lands a summer job at Killer Pizza, which is a front for a monster-hunting organization.” Back in January I interviewed Adam Green, and when I asked him about working in other genres, he mentioned that he had a long-gestating romantic comedy in the works that had …

Whew… that’s a hell of a post title for such a small announcement isn’t it? If you get nothing else from it you should get the following one word: FREE. That’s right. While most celebs and figures in horror charge twenty plus dollars to get a photo taken with them you can get a “photo in the swamp” with Adam Green for free. Of course the caveat is that you need to be in LA at Creation Entertainment’s Weekend of Horrors tomorrow. …

I received a press release today for Texas Frightmare Weekend 2010. In addition to celebrities, prop auctions, and a myriad of other horror goodies, there will be a film festival (you can buy passes here for all films, or individual selections) at Studio Movie Grill in Lewisville.
The festival will host Adam Green’s Frozen, George A. Romero’s latest zombie installment Survival of the Dead, and 2001 Maniacs – the sequel to the cult hit.
If you haven’t already picked up your day or weekend passes, get to it before prices …

Two contests in one day? What can I say… It doesn’t happen often so you’re welcome. Frozen is a film we here at BrutalAsHell.com are very excited about. I got to catch an advance look at the film just a couple nights ago and will personally attest that I spent half the film slack-jawed. It was pure insanity. Make sure to check out Britt Hayes review of the film. I joke that Britt and I are like Siskel and Ebert as we rarely …

Frozen director Adam Green
Interview conducted by Britt Hayes ā January 2010
In part one of my interview with director Adam Green, we discussed his upcoming survival suspense-drama, Frozen (in select theaters February 5th), as well as his influences for the film and his opinion on remakes. Since the interview was so long (and so epic!), we’ve decided to bring it to you in two parts.
We’ve talked about Frozen, and now it’s time to talk about his anticipated upcoming film, Hatchet 2, which recently began production:
Brutal as Hell: I can’t do an …

Frozen director Adam Green
Interview conducted by Britt Hayes – January 2010
Adam Green is a fantastic director who has brought us brutal films like Spiral and Hatchet. His latest film, Frozen, is an intense survival-horror drama that premiered at Harry Knowles’ (Aint it Cool News) annual Butt-Numb-a-Thon at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin. I wrote a glowing review back in December, and positively jumped at the chance to interview Adam. Since this interview was so long (and so awesome), we split it into two parts.
Ladies and gents, I give you part …
