Comprised of brothers Alex and Willie Cortes, Seppuku Paradigm is a French two-piece band that might be best described as a blend of electronica, rock, and experimental composition. They formed together as a group in 2005 and first released three songs for Julien Séri’s film Scorpian, at the same time releasing their first EP entitled Unedited/Unreviewed. Following director Frank Vestiel contacted them to compose the score to his dark horror-sci-fi film Eden Log, which opened the door for them to be approached by Pascal …

Texas Frightmare Weekend was held in Dallas this past weekend, and I got a chance to sit down with the cast from the Anchor Bay Films remake of I Spit On Your Grave, directed by Steven Monroe. When the film was first announced, I, like many others, was initially weary of the project. How could anyone remake a film so dark, so morally ambiguous, and so damn brutal? Especially today with studio pressures and the limitations of the MPAA? Would anyone want to see it? It’s …

Interview Conducted by Marc Patterson – March 2010
Back in March of this year I had the chance to catch up with Creep Creepersin, an emerging horror filmmaker with a punk rock DIY aesthetic that he applies to his mind-bending and gory as hell films. The running joke is that he churns out more films than he has time to watch. From what I’ve seen so far he’s a sort of modern day Jess Franco in the making. Only time will tell…

To those that only like their horror when it’s served up on the silver screen, the name Brian Pulido may not mean a whole lot. But if you’ve ever ventured into the realm of horror in all it’s four-color, comic book glory, that name is synonymous with some of the best tales of terror to ever grace the format.
Pulido is the creator of some of the most revered horror comics icons of all time, with characters like Lady Death, Evil Ernie, and Smiley, the psychotic button. …

During January’s Slamdance Film Festival I got the opportunity to interview Andy Mitton and Jesse Holland, writers and directors of the upcoming YellowBrickRoad. The film is a psychological horror film set deep in the woods of New Hampshire, on a mysterious trail called “YellowBrickRoad”. The legend tells that on one morning in 1940 the entire town of Friar, New Hampshire (572 men, women, and children) walked together up a mountain trail and disappeared into the wilderness with no explanation. Roughly half the bodies …

Shannon is one tough cookie from Wicker Park Chicago. She’s the newest member of the BrutalAsHell.com crew, and writer of our original column Slash & Dine, having had the oven mitts handed over to her from our former columnist, Natalie Slater. Since January she has wasted no time diving into the column, already putting her own fresh spin on the column and of course attracting a fantastic new base of readers. By day she works as a hair stylist …

Annie… Where do I start with this gal? Annie is like a long lost sister I never knew I had. Several years ago I had the good fortune of meeting Annie not much more than after a couple of months into my year long tenure with JoeHorror.com. It was my first official reviewing gig, one I took to keep my writing chops up to par for when I wasn’t hacking out short fiction. When I took off into my own direction to …

As a part of our Women in Horror coverage this month we’re taking the time out to interview each of the lovely ladies of the site. We start the series with Britt Hayes. Britt Hayes has literally become my right hand gal around these parts. She is an indispensable editor and writer for us here at BrutalAsHell.com. Her style goes well beyond the average horror blogger or reviewer as she applies her broad knowledge of cinema to the genre in a way …

Interview Conducted by Marc Patterson – Managing Editor – BrutalAsHell.com
After seeing the trailer that has been buzzing about various places for Drew Daywalt’s upcoming webseries, Camera Obscura, we had to reach out to him in order to find out more. From the trailer one can see this is a series that deserves more than a passing footnote. This is the sort of independent project that deserves a bit more time in the limelight, and deserves our support far more than any remake or big studio project. So check it out!

I recently was afforded the opportunity to chat with Domiziano Arcangeli (pronounced Do-meet-zee-ahno Ark-an-jelly), a true independent actor who has come up in the Italian school of acting, having spent time in films directed by Fellini, Lucio Fulci, Jess Franco, Joe D’Amato, Umberto Lenzi, amongst many others. Ten years ago he made the jump to Los Angeles where he acts, writes, and produces independent horror that is different from just about anything you’ve seen. He often works with the likes …
