Carrie On Killing. It’s the ‘Carrie’ Remake Teaser

As you may have heard elsewhere, this past weekend New York ComicCon hosted the premiere screenings of two major remake trailers. One was for The Evil Dead, which we’re still waiting to see (in an offical version, at least…), and the other is sitting at the bottom of this page. As the poster to the left suggests, you probably know her name.

I must say, I actually like the look of this. It’s a teaser in the true sense of the word, giving us new footage which most likely won’t show up in the final movie, with the snippets of voiceover seeming to confirm rumours that this new version will adhere more closely to the format of King’s novel, built largely from mock-newspaper articles, reflecting on the wrath of Carrie White after the fact.

Does it do anything to change the fact that De Palma’s film still works? Of course not, but that was always going to be the case, wasn’t it?

Spring 2013, people.
