‘The Man With The Iron Fists’ Poster & Trailer Bring The Pain
After the eye-popping pic that burst online the other day, it was of course only a matter of time before we saw more of RZA’s directorial debut The Man With The Iron Fists. And so it is that we now have a really quite sweet poster (see left – click to see it full size), and now the redband trailer.
Sure, it looks rather like Kill Bill’s House of Blue Leaves revisited, particularly with the presence of Lucy Liu – but really, is that a bad thing? I’m sure most of us agree the O-Ren Ichii chapter was by far the most entertaining segment of Tarantino’s kung fu epic, so why not let a similarly inclined filmmaker have a play in the same sandbox? At the same time, I like that Russell Crowe looks as though he’s just walked off the set of The Quick and the Dead; yet more fan nostalgia in the film’s favour. Of course, the prominent ‘Quentin Tarantino Presents’ credit means we’ll soon have to be explaining to the uninformed that this isn’t actually a Tarantino movie; hell, there are enough people out there who still think he directed the Hostel films.
Still no release dates, annoyingly, but surely it won’t be long. We want to see this damn film. Make it happen, Universal.
