CONTEST: Win a Blu-ray of ‘The Dead’
by Marc Patterson
I’m really stoked about the release of the Ford Brother’s African zombie film The Dead onto DVD and Blu-ray this February 14th. I’ve literally been waiting three years for this film to hit the US. If you think I’m kidding (and even I questioned it) look back to this news bit in March of 2009. That news post made us the first horror site to talk about this film. No lie. Sure, I’m proud of that fact, but holy fuckballs! Three years man! That’s a hell of a long time to wait.
I can promise you this, the wait will be worth it. The Dead is a film not to be missed. It’s got a decent story, but even better is the unique environment and atmosphere that practically breathes the spirit of Fulci incarnate. The zombies might be slow and lumbering but they never stop coming. It’s the embodiment of your worst nightmare come to life.
In celebration of this momentous occasion (one that may be more significant for me than any one else on the planet) we’re offering up two brand spankin’ new Blu-rays to a couple of lucky individuals.
Here’s how the contest works:

Official Synopsis:
When the last flight out of war-torn Africa crashes off the coast, Lt. Brian Murphy (Rob Freeman) is the sole survivor in a land where the dead are returning to life and attacking the living. On the run in a hostile and inhospitable parched landscape, Murphy has to use his wits and ingenuity if he is to get home alive to his family. When he crosses paths with local solider Daniel Dembele (Prince David Osei), a man frantically searching for his son, they join forces. Two desperate men from two very different cultures fight side-by-side to survive across the incredible vistas of Africa as the world around them succumbs to the deadliest of viruses.
