DVD News: ‘Cold Sweat’ Arrives on DVD in January
by Marc Patterson
Having premiered last April at SXSW, Cold Sweat is finally coming home, courtesy of Dark Sky Films. As with his preceding films (Rooms for Tourists and 36 Pasos) writer/director Adrián García Bogliano continues to play on the familiar theme of “women in peril” with Cold Sweat, his third major feature that creates nail biting tension when a couple of deranged old men, relics of a revolution gone by, capture and torture young ladies, dousing their bodies in nitroglycerine. The pacing remains fast and furious creating a wholly entertaining feature that, while pulpy in premise, was executed with style and originality to create a perfectly fun film.
