‘The Dead’ Arrive in 2012 on DVD and Blu-ray
by Marc Patterson
It looks like Howard and Jon Ford’s African zombie flick – The Dead will FINALLY be hitting DVD and Blu-ray in the US. Anchor Bay Entertainment has announced that they will release The Dead on both DVD and Blu-ray formats on February 14th, which will make Valentine’s Day pretty awesome this year. (Nude Nuns with Big Guns also gets a release that day).
The Dead (Reviewed HERE by Ben Bussey and HERE by Keri O’ Shea) follows a US Army soldier who finds himself stranded in a harsh African landscape. As he struggles to survive he meets a local military soldier who is searching for his son and together they find themselves locked in the ultimate battle, against hordes of the undead.
Extras are slated to include:
Audio commentary by Howard and Jon Ford
“Unearthing THE DEAD: Behind the Scenes” featurette
Deleted scene
There’s no word on whether or not Unearthing the Dead will include the footage of all the mishaps that occurred along the way of making this film. (You can catch a glimpse of those in the Behind the Scene featurettes previously made available online through YouTube). But, I sure hope it does. You can also read a lengthy interview I conducted with the Ford brothers on the making of The Dead right here. As for the immediate – consider the day marked!
