Englund and Forsythe together at last. Is this the horror equivalent of De Niro and Pacino in Heat? Spacey and Jackson in The Negotiator? Diesel and Rock in Fast Five?

The debut feature from director Glen Ciano, Inkubus is coming to Region 2 DVD in the new year from Trinity X. They’re calling it a “‘nuts and guts’ throw-back to the 80s genre film.” I can’t say that’s entirely the vibe I get from the trailer below, which looks like a fairly standard DV-shot 2000s genre film, but I will say it’s nice to see Englund getting to chew the furniture as another verbose villain.

Official synopsis: A ghastly beheading calls Detective Caretti (Joey Fatone) back to Woodhaven police station, where the skeleton crew find themselves in for a long and deadly night as the demon Inkubus (Robert Englund – A Nightmare on Elm Street, Freddie Vs Jason) returns. With a murderous legacy dating back to the middle-ages, Inkubus is hell-bent on destroying the one man who almost captured him thirteen years ago, Detective Gil Diamante (William Forsythe – Halloween).

Trinity X will unleash Inkubus from February 6th 2012; look out for our review sometime before that. Until then, here’s the trailer. Oh, and I’m curious as to who decided that, alongside Englund and Forsythe, Jonathan Silverman warranted pre-title billing…
