The greatest trick the devil ever played was to convince the world he didn’t exist. That’s a quote from French poet Charles Baudelaire, one I find particularly appropriate at this moment, though perhaps a bit grandiose for such a pithy post as this one is about to be. Of course, you probably would think, and appropriately so, that it was a quote from Kevin Spacey in The Usual Suspects. You’d also be correct, and truth be told I kinda like the way Mr. Keyser Soze rolled the words off his lips. I digress.

It is a fact, plain and simple, that in order to keep all of you city folk out of our peaceful and quiet woods, and to keep you breathing polluted air and overpaying on… well EVERYTHING, we “country folk” have successfully made you think that any place that is NOT in the city is pure evil. Traverse into the woods, or off the main roads, and innumerable horrors will befall you. So effective is this ploy that I can even come out and say such a thing and you’d still not venture out. (A little like the aforementioned trickery on the part of the devil). We have hundreds of horror films to prove it. Forest of the Damned 2 (AKA Demonic 2) is just such a film.

While at first glance the trailer for Forest of the Damned 2 doesn’t appear to reveal much story. Rather it revels in the erotic grotesqueries it promises to deliver in spades. If Forest of the Damned 2 is anything like the first one then that’s pretty much all this bit of indie cinema will deliver on; lots of nekkid chicks feasting on the flesh of man. Who needs subtext when you have demons that lust for blood?

The synopsis for the film is rather straight-forward and to the point:

Despite Lucy’s reservations she agrees to her husband’s request to attend a party of lust and sexual exploration on a remote island. Their passion soon turns to terror when they discover that one of the group disappears. Some start to believe there is something evil lurking in the forest while others begin to suspect each other. Lucy’s biggest fear was that the weekend could ruin her marriage, she didn’t realize it could cost her her life too.

The trailer is below and is quite unsafe for your working environment. Well, unless you have really awesome co-workers.

And as a bit of props: The trailer for Forest of the Damned 2 went online December 23rd. DreadCentral.com happened to find it today and well… thanks to them so did we.
