News Bits and Cheap Tricks

Well it’s finally here – the official kick off to the summer season, and if you’re on the northeast coast it’s looking to be one hell of a beauty! I don’t know about you, but by tomorrow morning I’ll be taking the scenic route to the Green Mountains of Vermont to rip it up with twenty or so of my best friends deep in the woods. Had I planned the trip better I’d have filmed a good ol’ backwoods hack n’ slash fest. This crew is certainly the right bunch to do so with! While I’m out for the weekend all won’t be dead around here. I’m getting a few posts lined up as I type this.
First up is the second installment of The Lucky 13, our summer long collaboration between all of us here and the great folks over at The Vault of Horror. Each week for 13 weeks we’ll be selecting our favorite films from 13 pre-determined genres. It’s just a great way for all of us to kick back and get to watch some our favorite horror flicks again, and wax poetic about why we love them so much. This weeks edition will hit the wires tomorrow, so stay tuned!
What else is happening? Glad you asked. Speaking of The Vault of Horror, last night I filled the guest spot on B Sol’s podcast, Conversations in the Dark. I won’t spill the beans, but it was a lot of fun and that podcast should be available for your listening pleasure at some point today or tomorrow. We’ll let you know.
So it’s a long weekend, and there’s nothing spectacular worth watching at the local multiplex, so what are you watching this weekend? Me? I have a nice little Monday planned up. My camping trip recovery day will consist of The Road, Horror Hospital, and I think I’ll top it all off with the newly re-released City of the Living Dead.
