Angela’s Party Revisited: Sneak Peek of the new ‘Night of the Demons’
by Ben Bussey
I know, another day, another remake story… but I’m getting a good vibe from this one, even though the movie in question has been awaiting release for a while now. Shock Till You Drop recently posted a clip boasting some footage from the remake of 80′s schlockbuster Night of the Demons – and it’s well worth a look. Sure, it basically looks like a cranked-up version of the original, but in this case that needn’t be a bad thing.
Having said that, I know this is one remake that could be particularly gruelling for some fans, as – yes – it’s remake of a Linnea Quigley movie. Never mind replacing Robert Englund, how can anyone replace Linnea?! And, if you’ve ever seen anyone on Twitter trying to make #quigleytits a trending topic – and no, I’m not naming names – then you’ll know that a lot of people are going to take this to heart. But let’s be reasonable here. Firstly, Linnea is said to have a cameo. Secondly, taking over the role of Suzanne is Bobbi Sue Luther, and I dare say she’s well equipped (nudge-nudge wink-wink) to take over where Linnea left off. And with ample support (heh-heh-heh) from Freddy Vs Jason’s Monica Keena, and as party host Angela the one and only Shannon Elizabeth – the woman who I suspect has done more for webcam sales than anyone in the world – and I think it’s safe to say this movie shouldn’t leave anyone wanting for boobage. Okay, hope I’ve put a few minds at ease now. Anyway, at least they haven’t cast Tara Reid as Trash in a Return of the Living Dead remake. Oh shit, I don’t want to give Hollywood any ideas…
Night of the Demons played at last years FrightFest, which I’m sorry to say I missed. But Blogomatic3000 covered it, and inform that the film boasts “a gruesome face and boob ripping, demonic transformations (including one that takes place via some kinky demon anal sex) and a rehash of the original film’s lipstick in boob scene taken to an even more extreme and twisted level!” And doesn’t that sound like fun for all the family.
Set for release stateside in September, Night of the Demons is directed by Adam Gierasch; director of photography is Yaron Levy. (The clip below is actually a promo reel of his work, hence it also features footage from another two movies he shot, The Hills Run Red and Saw.)
