Horror In Short: Connected

Adding to our growing collection of short films is Connected, a new sci-fi western film coming at us from Denmark, and is set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. As with most westerns the element of survival in harsh environments comes into play, but not just survival against the elements. You also have to survive the other guy out there. There isn’t much exposition given to any backstory, so we’re left to wonder who these characters are, and where they came from. That said – the film works… exceedingly so.
Personally, I thought this short was fantastic. I loved the wide open expansive shots, the western musical motifs. Connected is just a really cool and original film. While this works well as a short I’d love to dive into some of that backstory, and really see this scene fleshed out into a full length feature. It already exudes the spirit of Sergio Leone far more than does Silver Moon, which we just reported on. You can almost sense that underneath those protective masks sits the next Man with No Name.
