Saturday Morning With Patrick Bateman
by Marc Patterson
It’s a snowy weekend up here in the great white north. I’ve got nothing better to do than sit around, drink coffee, and enjoy the company of horror flicks, and YouTube video’s. This morning I was cruising around the land of Patrick Bateman and discovered an array of fan made videos. A lot of the ones I really liked have embedding disabled. But the ones featured below are still a lot of fun.
This first mix is a hard and heavy montage that will have you stomping on your floors and getting ready to chop some bodies up! It was originally set to Don’t Stand So Close to Me by the Police, but later remixed with Throttlerod’s tune Beggar’s Banquet, which now inspires me to start a new band that will solely play heavy instrumental sets in front of cinema screens, mixing up clips from great films like this. Can you imagine how fuckin’ cool that would be? I’ll get started on that here ASAP. Check out the clip from YouTube user Godzilla987:
The next clip keeps the party going, but leans towards a little too 90′s club rock for my personal taste. It’s the You Spin Me Round cover from Dope…
Next one isn’t a music video, but a classic little trailer “redux” where some very creative cutting made American Psycho look like a Lifetime drama. Can you imagine what would have happened if you hit this film up hoping for a little romantic drama? Whoa boy…
And I’ll leave you with some straight up shit from the 80′s, because it wouldn’t be a proper Patrick Bateman post without one… I dug and dug, but damn… It’s Hip to Be Square:
