Horror In Short: Drew Daywalt’s ‘Suicide Girl’

Suicide Girl

Well – our first Horror In Short round-up was so popular that I already had a slew of films lined up to bring you for a second round. Matter of fact I had an entirely different film planned to bring to you today, but Drew Daywalt, who we just recently spoke to regarding his upcoming web series Camera Obscura, has premiered his short film Suicide Girl today and as they say, “When in Rome…”

Suicide Girl is only four minutes long, but true to style Daywalt has managed to deliver a creepy film that at its base plays out as a simple ghost/revenge story.  But if you can read between the frames you might call it a cautionary tale with subtext that provides some insightful commentary targeted towards todays youth, what with all their fancy interwebs, and “sexting”.  Christ, we’re breeding a whole generation of techo voyeurs.  Feast on the beast below, and be sure to check back this week for some more great horror shorts!

Oh – and if you’re a filmmaker and have a short you’d like featured here – shoot me a line at editor at brutalashell dot com.  I’m happy to look at and review your short, but I’d much prefer to share with our readers!
