‘Deadfall Trail’ Promises More Insane Backwoods Horror for 2010
Thanks to the folks at Bloody-Disgusting we caught wind of a film that is now officially on our watch-list for 2010. While Mr. Disgusting didn’t seem to care for the standard trailer, opting for the more gratiutious Bloodbath clip (both included below), I would have to kindly differ. The trailer sets us up for the kind of psychotic madness that is bound to ensue when shit hits the fan in the wilderness, while not revealing too much in the way of spoilers, spoilers that will ultimately make Deadfall Trail a shocking bit of horror. For me, getting a glimpse at the bloodbath clip only solidifies that rationale. Deadfall Trail is the latest in this years offerings for backwoods horror, and the style of psychological horror combined with the deep woods expedition gone wrong angle is one I’m really all about. (By the way keep on the lookout later this week for our interview with the guys behind Yellow Brick Road film)
Directed by Roze, his first feature length film, the official synopsis goes as follows: John, Julian and Paul enter the Kaibab National Forest for a three-week survival trip and peyote vision quest. The only items they take with them are a knife, a bottle of water and a garbage bag each. A week into their journey a disastrous turn of events changes everything and the men are forced to ultimately confront the darkest corners of their morality and mortality. Battling the elements and each other, the quest becomes to make it out of the forest alive.
Without needing to be said – this isn’t the last you’ll be hearing of this film from us. We’ve got our feelers out there as I type this for more information and we’ll bring it to you as soon as we get it!
