Uwe Boll to Start Shooting ‘BloodRayne 3: Warhammer’
by Marc Patterson
Okay – confessional time. My name is Marc Patterson and I liked BloodRayne.
There I said it. BloodRayne is for me a total guilty pleasure. So much so that I don’t even feel guilty about saying it. A little ashamed, sure. When I made the comment regarding Rob Zombie’s El Superbeasto that I would rather watch a Uwe Boll film ten times over than to suffer through any of RZ’s messes, it was BloodRayne I had in mind. Sure… it’s a totally BAD movie in every way, but for some reason it’s just a film that I won’t ever turn off if I channel surf by it, or happen to catch “on demand”. Listen, we all have our foibles. This one is my cross to bear.
So, you can well imagine that I’m not entirely indifferent to the news that Uwe Boll will be making a BloodRayne 3. The upcoming film will see the incredibly yummy Natassia Malthe return to the role of BloodRayne, which she took over in part two from the equally hot Kristanna Loken. In part two Rayne landed herself in the old American West. An odd move for sure, and one that was a bit lost on me. But in part three Rayne will be headed to Nazi occupied Europe during WWII. And according to Mr Boll, “There she’s got to give hell to a bunch of ruthless Nazis lead by the infamous Dr. Mengele, who’s made the sinister plan to give his beloved Führer immortality by turning him into a so-called dhampir (a crossbreed between human and vampire) through the injection of some Rayne’s blood.”
I couldn’t have said it better myself. Shooting is scheduled to start in Zagreb/Croatia on February 15th and is tentively slated to get a direct to video release later this year.

I think the only reason you (and i) liked Bloodrayne is Kristanna Loken. I have asked myself if i would watch the movie a third time without her, and the answer has got to be “no”. With her, i can entertain the idea seriously, although i haven’t acted on it yet.
Yes! And at least Loken could act… at least as well enough to hold her own to the material. Malthe is nothing but pure eye candy. I didn’t care for the second film… but I’m a sucker for anything war related in horror (as if war isn’t horror in itself)
