South African Zombie Horror ‘The Dead’ Gets a New Trailer
by Marc Patterson
Remember that 3 minute long trailer I posted for you all almost a year ago for a really sweet looking zombie film based in South Africa? No? Okay, well at least I’ve now found validation in bringing you some updated news. Looks like The Dead has finally wrapped and currently the producers are looking for a little distribution love. Not only that but they have a brand new trailer for you to check out.
Personally, I think you’ll get a better vibe for the feel of the film, which I previously compared to Lucio Fulci’s Zombi, by looking at the longer trailer. The new trailer certainly quickly gives you a feel for the film, but diminishes that Fulci like element a bit. For me having that element was a real positive in originally selling me on the film.
The official synopsis from the website:
After crashing off the coast, Lt Brian Murphy battles for survival across the vast terrrains of Africa in search for a way to get back to his beloved family. Joined by local military man Daniel Dembele who is also searching for his son, together both men join forces all the while battling against the ever present threat of the living dead!

Three minute trailer:

Zombies in Africa – yes! I’m kinda tired of watching another “undead vs humans in the city”. Music is pretty awesome here.
Amazing! somehow in a genre where I thought it had all been done suddenly something original comes along. Totally worth a look for the setting along… also looks somehow real which could be a breath of fresh air compared to most of the big budget crap. Just hope the Cliche’s dont pop up in the actual film!
