It was as if the song was written about my ex girlfriend who completely destroyed me, twice. Fool repeats his folly though right? BoD now... Anyway my criticisms are that I do not like that he chose the shoe as something to remind him of her scent (which apparently by the visions at the end of the video he is smelling his own shoe…?). I would have picked up her shirt to smell and stayed a man. I can't understand why he wants to dress as her either, or become her. Other than he is trying to combine their identities so he can still hold on. The only sense that comes out of it is that there is no sense because he is haunted by her memory. The blood in the film brings together the tortured mind and suffering body, helps drive home the punchline, I’ll never be me again.
