Horror In Short Day Three: PLAGUE
by Marc Patterson
Well sonovabeotch! It’s day three of our our Horror In Short film fest. Yesterday we highlighted Terrence Kelsey’s paranormal gore-filled horror (Spek.ter), and Monday we kicked the whole shebang off with a little bit of zombie nu-grindhouse called They Shall Pay With Rivers of Blood. Well, it’s Wednesday and we have another zombie flick to bestow upon you. Unlike They Shall Pay, Plague is a slow building suspense filled narrative a la 28 Days Later, though less with the social sub-text and more with the focus tight on one main character.
Plague clocks in at 17 minutes long and is directed by Matt Simpson and Joseph Luke Avery. It’s been made an official selection for such film fests as NYC Horrofestival and The Revenant film fest in Seattle Washington, so within localized genre festivals its getting some much deserved attention. Hopefully we’ll help give it some more exposure.
The story, written by Matt Simpson, follows Vilhelm, a gunrunner who is illegally smuggled into London from the Russian border, so that he can get a fresh start on life. That fresh start is cut short thanks to an ill-timed zombie uprising. Vilhelm has no choice but to make an escape.
Check out the film in its entirety below. We hope you enjoy!
