Fishburne Joins Antal’s ‘Predators’

According to Shock Til You Drop, Laurence Fishburne is the latest name to join the Rodriguez-produced, Nimrod Antal-directed Predators, which has been shooting in Hawaii and now in Rodriguez’s hometown of Austin, Texas.
Fishburne’s character is named Roland and will be kicking ass alongside Adrien Brody, Danny Trejo, Topher Grace, Walton Goggins, and Alice Braga. The group will play a mix of characters chosen as worthy opponents and transported to the Predator home planet to fight for their lives.
I was a little weary of Rodriguez’s involvement, since Predators is lensing on his home turf for the most part, and Rodriguez doesn’t seem the type of producer to sit back and let the director do his thing. But I spoke with Derek Mears last weekend, and am assured that Antal is not only a great director, but is definitely holding the reins in this film.
