I literally scour the net every day looking for really cool shit to bring to you all that you’re not going to neccessarily find at the larger horror sites.  Stuff that can hopefully really excite you.  This morning I discovered a subtle trailer for a film called Quarto De Espera, or simply Waiting Room.

According to Quiet Earth: The film will premiere before John Hillcoat’s The Road at the Stockholm Film Festival as a part of the fest’s special Apocalypse: The Time Is Now section.”

The synopsis for the film proves it to be a great pairing with The Road:

A young man wearing a gas mask wanders through the deserted streets of a crumbling city. Only a few people – all male – still roam the streets and frequent the coffee shops. Their interaction is minimal and marked by sudden and unprovoked outbursts of violence. Everyone is seemingly waiting for an undisclosed something.

From the trailer you’ll see that the directors exquisitely capture each moment, perfectly framing the film as a despondant portrait of an ominous wasteland where something of magnitude is about to happen.  I recommend to watch the trailer twice, really paying attention to expressions and what’s going on.  This is going to be a damn cool short film.

Quarto De Espera was created by directors Bruno Barboni and Davi Pretto and has a 13 minute run time.
