Variety has gotten word that Lakeshore Entertainment has signed Scott Derrickson to direct a new supernatural suspense thriller called The Living. The film will be produced by Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi, as well as Paul Harris Boardman. Boardman and Derrickson previously made the successful The Exorcism of Emily Rose for Lakeshore in 2005.

The plot for The Living has yet to be revealed, but is based on a pitch by Derrickson and Boardman. Derrickson recently directed the atrocious The Day the Earth Stood Still remake with Boardman producing. The pair also have a remake of the Danish film, The Substitute, in the works for Spooky Pictures, the newest offshoot of Sam Raimi’s Ghost House company.

We’ll keep you posted as more details are released.
