Tim Sylvia is NOT the Next Jason

I’m not going to waste a lot of time on this post. It’s Sunday morning and I have food shopping to do. But I’m seriously annoyed, so I do want to take a few seconds to help squelch the rumor that MMA wrestler, and former UFC champion Tim Sylvia was cast to be the next Jason Voorhees. It’s simply not true. The rumor originated at Fighters.com, and since it’s original posting has spread throughout a gamut of sports sites, and unfortunately has now also invaded the horror community, making top news at a small handful of sites that shall remain unnamed, (but that I hope to see this ridiculousness removed from their front pages ASAP today.)
Listen folks… whenever a SPORTS site reports on film casting news you might want to check your sources, regardless of how “close to the source” they claim to be. There’s no sports site that will ever get the scoop over a well sourced horror cinema site. And when an horror site picks up on that baloney news and cites a SPORTS page as the source you might want to question the credibility of that entertainment site.
According to Brad Fuller of Platinum Dunes: “Don’t believe the rumor. We are NOT shooting F13 right now, and the only person I want to work with as JASON is Derek Mears.”
Okay? We all good? Can we now continue with our Sunday morning coffee and food shopping?
