“And now the dead became two…”

Delicate soft piano stirs in the background to a moving noir vision. A slowly rising symphonic crescendo brings this artistic vision to its maddening height pushing it towards a climatic rise I could have never imagined in a thousand nightmares. Detective Singapore Sling is in search of his lost lover Laura, which brings him to a desolate villa where he collapses from a bullet wound. He is taken in by a mother and daughter who exact numerous forms of degradation and violence on our detective.

Simply put this is a perverse, twisted, revolting, and beautifully created film noir in the spirit of Pasolini and Lynch. The cinematic artistry displayed by cinematographer Andreas Andreadakis is astounding with amazingly crisp black and whites, and perfectly framed shots.

Before I sat down to screen this film I was warned. I was warned it was sick. (It was) I was warned it was disturbing. (It was). I was told it would be a “must own” film. And that it most certainly is.

Singapore Sling is an artistic dark and twisted tale of torture and love doused with a liberal serving of sleaze, rape, incest, & sadism. It is a film that will both revolt and satisfy. It comes nothing short of highly recommended.
