Sony Home Entertainment will finally be releasing [REC] in R1 DVD format to American horror audiences on July 14. There’s no word on extras or packaging. No word on the DVD cover art either. (No, that’s not the official US cover art to the side) Additionally we’ve learned that there is no Blu Ray release planned at this time. We’re sure a Blu Ray version will ensue, but not until Sony drums up some DVD sales.

For those of you who don’t want to wait for the film, you plainly don’t have to. I’ve proudly owned my R1 version, bought through Amazon Canada. Here’s the direct link for your pleasure: [REC] R1 DVD from Amazon Canada.
