Horror DVD/Blu Ray Releases: April 14, 2009
Well, we’ve been a bit off track since that hacking incident, but we’re officially back to some regular news postings with this weeks DVD/Blu Ray Releases. This week there’s not a ton, but what there is seems to be pretty worth checking out. First and foremost is SPLINTER, for which we’ll have our review up later today. Without spoiling anything it’s the must buy of the week and an extremely fun creature flick. Not only that, but you BLU RAY folks should be able to pick this up for roughly $20 bucks. Not too shabby.
FOREST OF DEATH makes our must check out list since it’s from the Pang Brothers. The title is fairly straightforward and self-explanatory.
FEAR THE FOREST continues the nature hates man theme this week. This one we don’t necessarily endorse, so get your titles straight before you head to the store. Typical high school aged kids head into the woods to find a monster and the monster finds them.
BLED – Don’t want to make pre-mature judgement, but this looks like a rather steaming pile of vampire ka-ka.
There’s a couple of re-issues from “The Lost Collection” SLAUGHTER HIGH and REPOSSESSED. Worth checking out if you’re a fan of retro’s 80′s styled horror.
Rounding out the list is THE TELLING – an anthology of horror shorts that we’ve done some reporting on here in the past. It’s from those Playboy Bunny “Girl’s Next Door”, so again, we’ll need to see this before we cast judgement. That being said… they keep promising me a screener, but my mailbox has been empty thus far.
