All that pretty little Norma ever wanted was to be loved for who she was and to get the hell out of the trashy little trailer park in which she was born and raised. But just as she’s about to get her chance at a new life, her beloved boyfriend is murdered before her very eyes by the yeehaw, sweat-stained crackers who are determined to keep Norma where they feel she belongs. Shocked and devastated, Norma makes a deal with the Grim Reaper Himself and has her revenge, reducing the trailer park to a burned out ruin, and all of its inhabitants – including herself – into corpses.
Some 20+ years later, a busload of troubled kids on a Hallelujah Retreat cracks up just outside of the park, which has earned itself a reputation as a white trash Devil’s Triangle of sorts. The horny, drug-abusing kids and their Holy Rollin’ guide go looking for help amongst the trailer trash and are taken in by Norma, the undead blond bombshell who now rules supreme over a small population of redneck zombies, all bent on turning the teen jerks into beef jerky.
Horny teens, car accident, sex, death, blahblahblah. Yeah, I wasn’t expecting much from this movie except maybe a complete and total waste of an hour of twenty seven minutes of my life. But I’m very happy to report that Trailer Park Of Terror surprised the cynical shit out of me! It’s a bloody, drippy, nasty, white trash sweatin’, Southern Cross rockin’, pork-rind reekin’, super sicko splatterific slasher flick! On the surface, it seems like just another silly spoof of a tired out genre.. But at it’s core, Trailer Park Of Terror is a viciously sadistic and nauseating ride on the guts and gore rollercoaster which plunges into depths of depravity that even a hardened gore fangirl like myself found shocking. I haven’t felt this dirty and violated since watching The Devil’s Rejects, a film to which TPOT owes much of its inspiration and some of its supporting cast as well. It’s always great to see Priscilla Barnes in her underwear, but ultimately, Nichole Hiltz rules this film as the southern fried, smoking hot Norma, all long legs, perfect ass and a sultry bad girl persona that never cracks. She’s so fucking awesome that I call dibs should I ever become a lesbian.
From snuff film subplots to a skinning and deep frying which would have Leatherface drooling for dinner, Trailer Park Of Terror is a dirty, filthy, sleazy festival of scuzzy fun that never lets up. Rent it immediately and test your gag reflex this Halloween, preferably with your horny, drunken, mentally fucked friends.
PS – A word of advice to those who purchase the DVD copy which comes with the complimentary packet of beef jerky: eat that shit BEFORE you watch the film. It’s actually some pretty tasty stuff, but once you see the secret recipe in action, you may lose your appetite for it forever.
