A group of buxom bombshells, who we are supposed to believe are all in high school, decide to throw a slumber party.  Across town the homo-erotic football team is having a bash of their own.  On the loose is a crazed chef who is butchering everything living thing he comes across.  Worlds collide in one fateful evening, with no purpose, meaning, or further story line.

Folks, before I go any further let me say this: Bikini Bloodbath is ultra low budget, stripped down horror, no pun intended.  Boobs, blades, and bloody murder are literally all that is served up here.  Low budget horror is always hard to review.  One can effectively just sit and trash it, but that’s not fair.  Low budget schlockery is its own twisted art form and must be judged for what it is.  Surprisingly Bikini Bloodbath wasn’t that bad.

Naturally, Debbie Rochon gets the attention early on.  She lends her talent as the quintessentially lesbian gym teacher, who’s just aching to get a little action from her pupils.  She plays the part well and elicits a few snickers, but not much more.  She’s gives a strong name to the billing and that’s about it.  Our production team does well to stock the film with some true hotties and drop them into scene after scene of ridiculously cliché sexual situations.  First a volleyball match, then the showers, then a slumber party.  Does the fun ever end?  Can they act?  Hell no to both.  But is that the point?  Not likely.

When our killer emerges there’s no dramatic unfolding, and no back story provided.  (Actually no story at all is given), just a maniacal chef wandering around in the woods carving up humans like they are going to be his next roast.  Before the girls can hit the hot tub he’s already hacked his way through half of the otherwise sleepy suburban town.

Let’s fact it folks, you don’t watch pornography for a compelling story line so why would you watch ultra low budget horror for anything else than over the top sexual exploitation and bloody fucking carnage?  Bikini Bloodbath certainly won’t be winning any awards on technical or artistic merits, but I don’t think that matters much to the filmmakers or participants.  They seemed to want to have a good time making the film, and wanting sharing it with everyone else.  Being that no plot was offered up, I could have done with a bit more blood, and more sleaze.  I enjoyed the humor that was put into the film and had to laugh at the boys’ football team working through some sexual confusion issues.

Bottom line – was the film fun?  Yeah, it actually was.  It won’t be for everyone, but for fans of this style of horror I’d recommend.  I’m giving this a generous 2 ½ stars for meeting my expectations and making low budget horror proud.
